Neighborhood Engagement Hub Launches New Community Advisory Group in 2026
FLINT, Mich. — The Neighborhood Engagement Hub (NEH) is excited to announce the establishment of its new Community Advisory Group in 2026, creating an opportunity for deeper community voice, stronger collaboration, and shared guidance as the organization continues its work to support neighborhoods across Flint.
Since its founding in 2014, the Neighborhood Engagement Hub has been rooted in the vision of Flint residents who called for a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting neighborhood groups and strengthening community-based development efforts. What began as a response to resident leadership has continued to grow into a citywide commitment to neighborhood capacity building, training, technical assistance, and community partnership.
In 2022, NEH re-examined its mission, programming, identity, and operations. Through that process, the organization adopted a renewed mission statement, identified core values, and clarified its areas of focus. Today, NEH operates as a nonprofit community development corporation serving the entirety of Flint.
The creation of the Community Advisory Group marks an important next step in that evolution. The group is being formed to help strengthen resident and community engagement, provide valuable feedback, and support NEH’s efforts to remain aligned with the needs, priorities, and hopes of Flint neighborhoods.
“The Neighborhood Engagement Hub was created because residents saw the need for stronger support for neighborhoods in Flint,” said the NEH team. “Establishing this Community Advisory Group is one more way we are honoring that foundation by creating space for community voice, insight, and leadership to help shape the future of our work.”
NEH currently works with more than 30 neighborhood groups and community organizations throughout Flint. Its support includes neighborhood project planning and implementation, printing and copying services, access to the Community Toolshed and mobile event kit, fiduciary grant management, and collaborative workshops and trainings with community partners.
NEH’s mission is to serve as a catalyst for positive neighborhood change by supporting neighborhoods to become safe, healthy, and whole.
Grounded in its vision for stronger neighborhoods, NEH continues to center its work around the values of:
Strengthening Neighborhoods and Groups + Complete Neighborhoods + Building Local Wealth = Strong Neighborhoods
