What We Do

The Neighborhood Engagement Hub provides supportive services under the three programmatic categories listed below. Read below to learn more about the various activities in each program.

NEIGHBORHOOD SERVICES

Through the Neighborhood Support Services Program, NEH provides workshops/trainings and consulting services (including group formation support, meeting facilitation, goal identification, one-year Action Planning assistance, fiduciary support and other ongoing support as needed to neighborhood groups. 

COMMUNITY TOOL SHED

Through the Community Tool Shed, NEH loans landscaping equipment, including power and hand tools, to community members at low-or-no cost for blight elimination on vacant or abandoned properties throughout the City of Flint.

COMMUNITY CENTER

The NEH offices serve as a Community Center, providing flexible meeting space for neighborhood organizations and other community groups; computer and Wi-Fi access; and some printing, copying, lamination and fax services for public use.  

PROJECTS

Neighbors CHANGING FLINT

Neighbors Changing Flint is a free leadership and neighborhood improvement workshop for residents and neighborhood groups throughout the City of Flint. During the workshop series, organizations will present and provide attendees with tools on a variety of topics.

MAPPING PROJECT

The purpose of the Neighborhood Mapping Project is to provide Flint residents with up-to-date neighborhood group information, report on community concerns and offer recommendations for funders and community organizations.
